We were theatre kids…

Now we’re theatre parents.

Meet Brooke and KJ

I remember auditioning for my first show (at age 5) and I didn’t get cast. I cried. For a while. Then my Mom asked me if I wanted to audition for the next show. I got in that one, and I was HOOKED (I was an “extra orphan” in “Annie” if you’re wondering). Looking back, it blows my mind that at age 5, I was given the opportunity to learn such a huge life lesson. You win some, you lose some, but when you love something, you want to do it, even if it’s hard sometimes.

I was your typical theatre kid. It was obvious from birth that there was no way I wasn’t going to be a performer. And, now I’m a Mom. (My FAVORITE role, by far). I don’t necessarily see my kids wanting to be performers. BUT, I believe that what we learn in rehearsals, on stage,  and in acting class is something that EVERY CHILD, should learn. It’s more than the thrill of show time. Way more than the applause.

It’s the safe space to let so many big emotions out. It’s the sense of community. It’s a place to shed your inhibitions, to face the fear and do it anyway.

I want to be there to nurture the talent of your budding young actors. But, more than that, I want to be the fun place for kids to be silly and use their imagination. I have had the pleasure of working as a professional actor for the past 16+ years.

“This class is phenomenal. I was hesitant to sign up for anything virtual because I don’t believe kids should spend a lot of time on screens. I should have done it sooner! Their classes are unbelievably interactive and engaging! They really get the kids up and moving. Brooke’s ability to “see” each individual child for who they are is like magic. The way they are skilled at getting kids to identify and be in touch with their feelings is like nothing I’ve ever seen before.”

“I can honestly say that I had no idea what to expect or how the kids would react, but watching what you put together and your energy was awe-inspiring! Wow! Scamper Theatre Kids are very lucky kids indeed. I cannot recommend it enough. Fun, silly and basically nuts. We LOVED IT!”

“We can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done with Scamper Kids. You made every Saturday something to look forward to for my kids and I’ll never forget that. In such a f%$#ed up time in this world, you guys went WAY above and beyond to make a bunch of kids and parents happy.”
